Walk In Selection

Today, we went to watch StarWars at West Mall. The show was quite boring and lengthy. Ended at about 11.20pm.

We left and headed for Toa Payoh to see the situation if there’s any queue for walk in selection.

When we arrived, there’s a group of people gathered together, seemingly quarrelling.

We were puzzled what had happened.

It’s the security guard who refused to let these 10 groups of people to queue at the HDB entrance. Then security guard even called the police up. *Useless guard*

The bloody same security guard we saw last night. Asshole. Then i told Jason, “See! I am not the only one having problems with him! HUMPF! ”

Jason just kept quiet. Because the guard is really making our lifes miserable. And to top it off, the security guard is quarreling with all 10 groups of people.

This is the 4th time we are trying. First time, balloting. Second time, WIS. Third time, balloting. This fourth time, WIS. Since last year to this year.

Enough shit. Want to get this over and done once and for all.

However, we never know what locations will HDB release. So this is part of a “gamble”. Worse to worst, we just lose a couple night of sleep. Afterall, we have been waiting for so long. Nothing to lose.

The quarrel went on for 1 to 2 hours. We hung around, and trying to know what’s the situation.

We are the 11th couple. #11. 🙂 We were told by another couple that we are #11. Thank you for counting and being organised.

The security guard told us to queue in the garden. Yes, GARDEN! *roll eyes* Who in the right mind would want to queue in the garden?!

Besides, the #10 jumped queue earlier, thinking she’s #1. When the rest are queuing at the other side. #10 mistaken and thought she’s #1. This is the kind of misunderstanding we want to avoid. And if we queue in the GARDEN, then everyone who comes over will certainly think they are #1.

There is this woman, she has been queuing since 9am. She’s #1. Her efforts and time are spent there. I understand why she refused to go GARDEN to queue.

Then there is a guy (Gladies) trying to sort things out with the security guard and police. Finally we agreed to stand aside, away from the entrance. But we needed something to determine our queue number. So we placed our bags in front of the HDB entrance, and we stood aside leaving our bags there.

Security guard walked over, “Move your things away”.

Everyone’s really pissed off.

A lady told the guard off, “Uncle, is you are too free? And you want to show us your authority power? You know you will have your retribution.”

LOL!

Another couple asked security guard. “What’s your name?”

The lady answered the couple, “Don’t worry, i jot down EVERYTHING.”

LMAO!

Well, we hang around and refused to bulge again. Sigh.

Then, the security guard finally suggest we queue at the POSB area. Reason? Because it’s an area for the public to withdraw money. *roll eyes*

We wanted the guard to reassure us that he will chase people who queue at the door away after we left.

This group of people are very cooperative and understanding. We all had mutual understanding as to who is first, second, third and so on. Afterall, it’s only right to let the person who came first get first. I don’t want to jump queue and be an asshole.

It’s Saturday NIGHT. We will queue till Monday or even Tuesday. No one will be around on Sunday, so why can’t we queue at the entrance?

My thoughts : As a security guard, he doesn’t allow us to queue at the entrance of HDB because it’s HDB permises. Isn’t the POSB ATM area HDB’s premises too? Crap. Asking 20+ people to queue right beside the POSB ATM, do you think it’s right? Which is safer? Queue beside the HDB entrance which has nothing valuable or queue next to POSB ATM?

Go figure.

We rather queue at POSB area than at the garden, because at POSB we are able to see if someone queues right in front of the door, and go get him/her to join the queue. This way there won’t be any misunderstanding if someone else comes later.
